Installing Software
No,you don't need to install any software or app on your PC or Mac to use ClickShare.
When you plug in the ClickShare Button, either the ClickShare App on the Button will be started automatically (by the Windows Driver) or a ClickShare drive will appear on your computer with removable storage. On this ClickShare drive, an executable program is available for Windows and for Mac. Double-clicking this executable will start the ClickShare application. When the meeting has ended, you can simply remove the ClickShare Button and nothing will be left on your computer.
Automatically starting the ClickShare App
However, the best experience is available when the ClickShare App automatically starts from the ClickShare Button. There are three possible ways to achieve this:
- Via the ClickShare Windows Driver
- By installing the ClickShare Launcher
- Or install the ClickShare App on your Desktop
ClickShare Windows Driver
With the v1.8.0.6 release of the CS-100(H), CSE-200(+) and CSE-800 there will be a new Microsoft Windows driver installed on your computer and will only work with release v1.8.0.6 and up. On CX-range Base Units this capability is available as from the initial product release.
Plugging in a ClickShare Button (paired with Base Unit with v1.8.0.6 release installed) into the laptop for the first time will trigger Windows to download the ClickShare windows driver from the Windows update store (precondition: laptop must be connected to the internet).
NoteThis is a new driver for the Button and will always and only launch the client present on the button (independent whether the desktop app and/or the launcher is installed/running). For detailed information see [KB9619]. Please note that the version 1.18.0 of this driver (automatically updated via Windows Update Store) requires the base unit to be up to date. More information in [KB11527].
Install the ClickShare Extension Pack
However, if you prefer, you can install the Launcher - see [KB4996], which will ensure that ClickShare always opens automatically when a Button is inserted in your PC or Mac. To download, visit product support for ClickShare Extension Pack at www.barco.com (or refer to the Downloads section at the bottom of this article). You will need admin rights for your computer to install the ClickShare Extension Pack software. /mac-video-converter-pro-download.html.
Note
The ClickShare Extension Pack only works on 64-bit platforms.
Install the ClickShare App
If you have the ClickShare Desktop App installed, and running in the background, it will automatically detect the ClickShare Button when plugged in. You can continue to use either the ClickShare Button or the ClickShare App to share.
